Adopted in 1980, Zimbabwe's flag consists of seven horizontal stripes of equal size. The middle stripe is black, above and below the black stripe are two red stripes, and above and below the red stripes are two yellow stripes. Two green stripes appear at the top and bottom. On the left side of the flag is a white horizontal triangle charged at its center with a red five-point star behind a yellow "Great Zimbabwe Bird."
